Colts Neck is 31.7 square miles of some of the most breathtaking scenery in all of New Jersey. Settled over one hundred and forty years ago, Holmdel has evolved from a small farming community to a suburban haven. Originally part of New Aberdeen, Matawan first rose to prominence as a seaport, becoming famous in the 19th century for its brick-making, canning and ceramic industries. Officially established in 1844, Millstone is comprised of 37.36 square miles. It is home to a small, tightly knit community. In fact, over the past 100 years, the township's population has only increased by 400 people. The population is currently 6,500. It boasts being one of the most "well rounded" townships in terms of land use. Industrial, agricultural, residential, and natural lands are all found side-by-side in a harmonious blend. Originally settled by English, Scottish and French immigrants, this peaceful town still maintains many of the values and traditions held by its founders.
